VietNamNet Bridge – China attached importance to the traditional friendship with Viet Nam and committed itself together with the Vietnamese side to strengthen solidarity, co-operation and mutual support to write a glorious new chapter in their comprehensive strategic co-operative partnership.

Chinese Ambassador to Viet Nam Sun Guoxiang made the statement at a banquet held in Ha Noi yesterday on the occasion of the 90th founding anniversary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) (July 1, 1921-2011).

He stressed that China and Viet Nam shared many similarities as they were both socialist countries led by communist parties.

The ambassador expressed thanks to the Communist Party of Viet Nam (CPV) for its valuable support and assistance to the CPC over the past 90 years.

In his speech, Dinh The Huynh, Politburo member, Secretary of the CPV Central Committee and head of its Commission for Popularisation and Education, spoke highly of the CPC's great achievements over the past 90 years, saying that the party accomplished a new democratic revolution to establish the People's Republic of China and implement the building of socialism.

Over the past 30 years in particular the CPC had initiated and led the Chinese people to carry out an open-door renovation process, gaining great victories, he said.

Huynh congratulated the CPC and the Chinese people over their achievements during the past nine decades and said he believed that under the leadership of the CPC, the fraternal Chinese people would harvest even greater achievements in the future.

The traditional friendship and co-operation between the two Parties, States and peoples had seen fine developments and been raised to a "comprehensive strategic co-operative partnership", Huynh said, expressing his belief that with joint efforts by both sides, the traditional friendship would be continuously consolidated and developed.

The two sides would work together to seek satisfactory solutions for issues left by history as well as newly-arising issues in the interests of the people in both countries and for peace, stability, co-operation and development in the region and the world at large, he stressed.
