Railway Project Management Unit's Director-General Le Kim Thanh has permitted the China Railway Sixth Group (CRSG) to resume work on eight locations of the Cat Linh–Ha Dong train project.

CRSG is the principal contractor of the urban train project.

The decision was issued after an inspection of fire hazards, labour and traffic safety measures was carried out, during which the contractors were able to show that all the required safety standards had been met.

The railway authority also ordered the EPC contractor to speed up the inspection process of the rest of the project and submit the results to the transport ministry.

The ministry also asked the contractors and sub-contractors to check daily for safety violations before they start work, and said that technical consultants must be present during the construction.

Technical consultants are authorised to suspend the project operations, should any safety violation be found, and report them to the ministry immediately.
