The Liaoning team from China has won the international women’s volleyball tournament, which closed in the northern province of Bac Ninh on May 6.  

In the final match against the host LienVietPost Bank the team easily finished the 25-16 in the first set but faced tough resistance in the second one to make it 25-19. Liaoning then regained its confidence and settled the third set 25-18.

With the championship title, Liaoning received a cash prize of US$15,000 while the runners-up LienVietPostBank pocketed US$10,000 and Vietinbank bagged US$10,000.


The organizing board presented the best libero award to Dieu Linh from LienVietPostBank, the best hitter award to Nguyen Thi Xuan from Vietinbank, the best player award to Nguyen Thi Ngoc Hoa from VTV Binh Dien Long An.

In addition, two Chinese players from Liaoning won the best setter award and the best blocker award.

Georgie Crawford from New Zealand was chosen Miss LienVietPost Bank 2012.
