VietNamNet Bridge – At 10am of August 14, a fire occurred at the apartment block of 300 Chinese workers at the Hai Phong 2 Thermo-power Plant project in the northern port city of Hai Phong.

Smoke rose from a row of apartments in the block and then flared up into a big fire. The fire then spread to other rows of houses. Nearly one hour later, firemen could control the flame.

The apartment block consists of five rows of houses, which are the home of more than 300 Chinese workers. Apartments are built with steel, sheet metals and heat-resistant materials.

There was no human loss reported because workers were at their workplace at that time.

The Hai Phong 2 Thermo-power Plant will assist Chinese workers to quickly stabilize their lives.

Hai Phong police are investigating the case.
