"All my fans are everything to me," Brown said when accepting the first award of the night, for best male R&B artist. "I know it's been a long road. I just appreciate every blessing that's been put in front of me."
The 21-year-old star, who entered this year's BET awards race with six nominations, also walked away with the award for best collaboration for song "Look At Me Now" with Lil Wayne and Busta Rhymes.
In this category he was vying with ex-girlfriend Rihanna, who was physically assaulted by him in 2009 after a pre-Grammy Award party.
Brown won another fan-voted award as well, the FANdemonium.
The ceremony was held at the Shrine Auditorium and hosted by actor and stand-up comedian Kevin Hart.
