VietNamNet Bridge – Attending Christmas parties at five-star hotels has become a new consumption trend among wealthy people in urban areas.

Christmas season kicks off

Big hotels, namely Hilton, Daewoo, Metropole, InterContinental, and Sofitel Plaza, all have planned the special programs and menus to welcome guests for the Christmas season. The Christmas atmosphere has been pervading everywhere at Daewoo Hotel since early December. The hotel has announced the plan to organize a very splendid Christmas Party on December 24, where many famous artists will perform. Guests will have to pay $35-70 per person to attend the party.

Metropole, one of the long standing hotels in the capital city, has kicked off the Christmas season with the special party, where the most famous meals of the hotels were served.

Other hotels have offered a wide range of choices for clients this year with diversified Christmas parties, for which guests have to pay $45-110 per person.

Sofitel Plaza Hanoi is completing the final preparations for the Christmas season with thousands of lamps and a special pine tree set up in the hall of the hotel. InterContinental Hotel is extraordinarily colorful these days, when it prepares to welcome guests to splendid parties. There will be luxurious parties focused on Italian cuisines and traditional cuisines priced at 900,000-1.5 million dong per person.

Meanwhile, Chez Manon of Hilton Opera promises to be the ideal place for lovers where people will be able to enjoy a romantic atmosphere with Gluhwine.

Hotels have also said that they are ready to provide other special services on the occasion of Christmas parties. For example, Metropole will provide spa services, while Intercontinental Hanoi West Lake will provide Santa Clauses who bring gifts to children.

Every hotel tries to attract guests with special characteristics and attractive themes for the Christmas season. While Hilton focuses on traditional and modern culture in order to “bring culture closer to the public”, Metropole tries to replicate a Northern European Christmas atmosphere.

Vietnamese will be main guests of the parties

Unlike previous years, when Christmas parties at luxurious hotels were designed only for foreigners, who could afford the parties, this year’s parties have been booked mainly by Vietnamese people.

Bich Huong, a PR officer of Daewoo Hotel said that the majority of guests, about 70-80 percent, who have booked parties at the hotel are Vietnamese.

In general, the prices for parties remain unchanged in comparison with the previous years. Meanwhile, the parties’ programs will also remain the same with meals and art performances.

Also according to Huong, in order to attract more guests, the hotel will give gifts to children, organize lucky draws or give drinks or food to clients. Huong said that the service fee is the same as in 2009.

Meanwhile, Quynh Hoa, a PR officer of Sofitel Plaza, said that the hotel has been trying to design the parties in the way so as to ensure the prices at the most reasonable levels.

As Hanoi is lacking destinations for people during the Christmas season, attending parties at luxurious hotels has become a new trend for wealthy people who want to enjoy a perfect Christmas atmosphere.
