According to Bui Kim Ha, general secretary of Ha Noi Badminton Federation, the event will feature 292 badminton players from 18 countries and territories including Japan, China, South Korea, Indonesia, Malaysia, India and Thailand.

Viet Nam’s players in the world’s top 100 such as Nguyen Tien Minh, Pham Cao Cuong, Vu Thi Trang, Nguyen Thuy Linh, Do Tuan Duc and Pham Nhu Thao will compete in the event, which has a total US$25,000 of prize money on offer.

The male and female winner will walk away with $1,875 each, while the winners of men’s, women’s doubles and mixed doubles will receive $1,975.

The tournament, which will last until March 25, is organised by the Ha Noi Department of Culture and Sports, and the Ha Noi Badminton Federation.
