The orchestra, founded by members of London's world-renowned Royal Opera House, will play in the Toyota Classic Concert under the direction of Spanish-born conductor Miguel Angel Navarro, with a special performance by young Vietnamese flutist Nguyen Ly Huong.

The international concert, celebrating its 25th anniversary, will blend classical orchestra with the glamour of the silver screen. The orchestra will perform pieces from classics like Gone With the Wind, Once Upon a Time in the West and The Godfather, as well as newer films like Mission Impossible and Pirates of the Caribbean.

After 10 years playing sold-out concerts at the Opera House, the soloists of the Royal Opera House expanded and became the Covent Garden Soloists. Since then, the group has grown to include performers from other art forms and other artistic institutions.

Pianist Pamela Nicholson and violinist Vasko Vassilev will join the show for their second year.

Huong, a prized local flutist, will play a Mozart concerto for the concert. She was the first Vietnamese flutist to win an international flute competition held in Nanning, China in 2013. She has also performed in Thailand, Japan and Germany.

"Music by Mozart is very fine and the piece's joyful rhythm is easy to enjoy," she said. "I try to transmit emotions to listeners when I play."

The concert has been held across Southeast Asia for 25 years this year visiting Singapore, Cambodia, the Philippines, Brunei, Malaysia, Thailand, and Viet Nam between October 30 and November 18.

Toyota Classic has brought world-level classical music to Vietnamese music lovers for the past 17 years. It gives local young musicians the opportunity to perform with world-famous artists and orchestras. It has also donated nearly VND2.5 billion (US$112,000) in proceeds to cultural and art-related activities.
