The building that won the most energy efficiency awards in 2013 is a supermarket in Di An Town in Binh Duong Province. With a design that meets standards for energy saving and environmental protection, this project received the Gold LEED certification of the U.S. Green Building Council and the Silver LOTUS certification of the Vietnam Green Building Council.
1,450 square meters of solar panels are installed on the roof of the parking lot and they provide 5% of total energy consumption of the building.
The Sky Light windows help reduce power consumption required for lighting.
The water-absorbing concrete system in the parking lot helps reduce water runoff and flooding, and recharges the groundwater.
The Fafco system helps reduce power use at peak hours.
The building has a power monitoring system that helps control power consumption and the quantity of electricity used in the building. The system indicates those points that need improvement and helps optimize investment decisions on new equipment.
There is also a 2,500 square meter playground available for free use.
