Returning to work after the Lunar New Year holiday 2026, businesses are entering the decisive phase of finalizing targets and accelerating production and business plans.

For CMC, 2026 revolves around two strategic axes: accelerating AI transformation, or AI-X, to create a new growth engine, and Go Global to expand markets and elevate competitive standards. The roadmap centers on three spearheads - AI, Security, and Cloud - with digital and compute infrastructure viewed as the foundation for AI to operate at scale, safely and effectively.

In fiscal year 2025, ending March 31, 2026, CMC reported that revenue in the early quarters tracked its plan while profit exceeded it. Full-year revenue is projected to increase 20 percent and EBITDA 22 percent compared to fiscal year 2024. These results provide momentum for the AI-X acceleration phase and reinforce resources for international expansion.

CMC Hyperscale Data Center in Ho Chi Minh City, scheduled to break ground in 2026, together with the CCS Hoa Lac Creative Space complex and the CMC University Tay Mo project, represents CMC’s standout digital and AI infrastructure highlights.

AI infrastructure: From a “convergence platform” in Hanoi to a hyperscale “heart” in HCM City

Within its AI-X strategy, CMC places data and compute infrastructure at the core. Two data center projects are considered the backbone of its AI, cloud and cybersecurity deployment capacity, serving both domestic and international demand.

In Hanoi, the CMC Creative Space complex, or CCS Hanoi, is positioned as a convergence space for R&D, data, talent and ecosystem partners. It enables product teams, laboratories, testing and solution development to connect end to end, shortening the lifecycle from idea to deployment.

In Ho Chi Minh City, the CMC Hyperscale Data Center is scheduled to break ground in 2026, targeting international operating standards and a green direction under the Green DC model. With hyperscale capacity, the project is expected to underpin large-scale cloud and AI services for workloads requiring high compute power, large storage and stable connectivity.

At the same time, hyperscale infrastructure is seen as an important step for Vietnam to participate more deeply in the global digital value chain, as data and compute capacity increasingly become strategic resources of the economy.

With operations commencing in August 2025, CMC OpenAI is expected to create a breakthrough for CMC in its new development phase.

AI-X: From an open ecosystem to practical deployment layers

In August 2025, CMC OpenAI, or C-OpenAI, was officially launched, affirming an AI pathway under the spirit of “Make in Vietnam – Made by CMC”. The ambition extends beyond core technology to synchronized product and solution development, bringing AI into concrete challenges faced by government agencies, enterprises and citizens.

In December 2025, CMC OpenAI announced the 32-billion-parameter CMC-AI-Legal model and introduced VLegal-Bench, a benchmark for Vietnamese legal applications. This standards-and-yardsticks approach signals an ambition to standardize industry-specific AI capabilities, enabling the ecosystem to compare, improve and scale real-world applications.

CMC University: Expanding training capacity for the AI era

In 2025, CMC University continued to position itself as an innovative digital university, focusing on strategic technology disciplines with a digital-first orientation and strong industry linkage.

The university enrolled nearly 1,600 freshmen against a planned quota of 1,300, reflecting growing attractiveness and momentum after three years of operation. Notably, from October 2025, CMC University began generating positive EBITDA and exceeded its six-month plan, underscoring operating effectiveness and model sustainability.

In the same year, the university held the graduation and degree awarding ceremony for its first cohort, marking the coming of age of a pioneering generation ready to enter the AI era.

Key milestones in 2025 included the launch of the eduBot AI training assistant in February and the eduX AI teaching assistant in September. In December, the university completed institutional accreditation and received a certificate of quality assurance. It also successfully hosted the ICAI international conference under the theme “AI – Impact and Potential”.

In early 2026, CMC signed a memorandum of understanding on strategic cooperation with NTT Data to provide high-quality IT talent for the Japanese market.

Go Global: Enhancing competitiveness through standardization and planting the flag

Along its Go Global axis, CMC is pursuing expansion tied to substantive growth. In 2025, the group recorded approximately 30 percent growth in international markets and a 34 percent increase in profit. CMC is present in 30 countries and maintains representative offices in more than 10.

Notably, CMC established CMC Global Malaysia and CMC North America in the US. At the same time, the group is completing procedures to open offices in strategic states including Illinois, California, Texas and Florida, while preparing to expand further into additional key markets in 2026.

CMC’s planting the flag approach goes beyond opening locations. It involves bringing core AI, cloud and security capabilities into each market and building standardized deployment and operating capability stacks, thereby creating trust and enabling deeper participation in the global digital supply chain.

In parallel, CMC is advancing partnerships to expand opportunities for delivering IT services and high-quality talent to target markets, including Japan and other high-standard markets. In early 2026, CMC signed a memorandum of understanding toward strategic cooperation with NTT Data to provide high-quality IT talent for the Japanese market.

Fiscal year 2026: Accelerating AI transformation

According to Chairman Nguyen Trung Chinh, the positive results of fiscal year 2025 form an important foundation, but only the starting point of a larger journey.

Over the next five years, he said, CMC must make strong breakthroughs to reach billion-dollar scale and build global influence, affirming its position as a Vietnamese technology group capable of transformation.

“We cannot stop at merely going abroad. CMC’s goal is to become a truly global company, where our thinking, culture and governance capabilities all meet international standards, strong enough to compete and create influence in the global market,” he said.

With around 6,000 employees, CMC’s leadership believes the group is capable of participating in and solving national-scale challenges. Looking toward its 50-year milestone in 2043, CMC aims to become a global technology group with strong reach and meaningful contributions to the country.
