After eight months of training, system development, and internal evaluation aligned with international standards, CMC Telecom has officially received ISO/IEC 22301:2019 certification for its Business Continuity Management System (BCMS).

This certification marks a critical milestone in CMC Telecom’s strategy to enhance safety, operational stability, and readiness for customers - especially as business demands for uninterrupted services intensify.

ISO/IEC 22301:2019 is recognized globally as the “gold standard” for Business Continuity Management Systems. Certified by TÜV NORD CERT GmbH (Germany), one of Europe’s leading independent certification bodies, this standard is typically reserved for technology and digital infrastructure companies with the most stringent operating conditions. It outlines principles, methodologies, and tools that help organizations maintain stable operations during high-risk scenarios, including natural disasters, technical malfunctions, cyberattacks, or large-scale infrastructure failures.

To qualify for certification, a company must demonstrate strategic-level risk management capabilities - ranging from Business Impact Analysis (BIA), building prevention–response–recovery frameworks, conducting regular drills, to operating a system that ensures availability and resilience at all times. Certification is granted only to organizations with globally recognized standards in risk control, operational reliability, and internal governance.

As Vietnam’s digital economy rapidly advances, core services like internet connectivity, data transmission, data centers, voice services, and cloud computing have become the backbone of business operations. Even a brief disruption can cause millions of dollars in losses, directly affecting customer experience and brand trust. The ISO/IEC 22301:2019 certification demonstrates that CMC Telecom has successfully built an internationally standardized operational system capable of responding to risks and delivering continuous 24/7 services.

A representative from CMC Telecom noted that adopting the ISO standard enabled the company to implement a methodical process - from identifying risks and developing contingency plans to allocating roles and conducting periodic testing. All of these efforts are directed toward the ultimate goal: ensuring that enterprise customers, especially in finance–banking, logistics, e-commerce, manufacturing, and digital transformation, always enjoy stable, secure, and uninterrupted services.

Beyond procedural management, the ISO/IEC 22301:2019 certification also supports enhancements in CMC Telecom’s technical infrastructure. Its FTTO (Fiber To The Office) system provides businesses with high-speed, stable connectivity and guaranteed recovery times in case of incidents. CMC Telecom’s high-capacity international internet routes - directly linked to major global hubs such as Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, and the United States - are also managed under BCMS standards to minimize service interruptions.

In the cloud computing segment, CMC Cloud - a "Make-in-Vietnam" cloud platform built to international standards - has likewise benefited from the BCMS implementation. The company’s modern data centers in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City operate under strict procedures, ensuring uninterrupted service delivery even during force majeure events. By meeting global business continuity benchmarks, CMC Cloud further strengthens its reliability for banks, large enterprises, and organizations running mission-critical cloud-based systems.

According to industry experts, this certification positions CMC Telecom as one of the pioneers in Vietnam’s telecommunications and digital infrastructure sector. With increasing dependence on data, connectivity, and digital platforms, business continuity has become a top priority. The true value of ISO 22301 lies in shifting from a reactive mindset - responding only when incidents occur - to a proactive approach that emphasizes preparation, prevention, and swift recovery.

Looking ahead, CMC Telecom plans to expand the scope of ISO/IEC 22301:2019 implementation and integrate additional international standards to build a comprehensive, globally aligned operational ecosystem. With this certification, CMC Telecom reaffirms its commitment to delivering Vietnamese enterprises telecommunications and IT services that meet three essential pillars: stability, security, and continuous availability.
