VietNamNet Bridge – Coach Hoang Van Phuc of the U23 national football team has been reinstated after the BTV Cup.
Coach Phuc of national football team suspended at night
After the BTV Cup finals on November 3, Vietnam Football Federation chairman Nguyen Trong Hy said: "On November 4, coach Hoang Van Phuc will return to normal work as the coach of the U23 Vietnam team. The suspension decision expired after two matches in BTV Cup. I hope he will continue to lead the U23 Vietnam team towards the 27th SEA Games".
Phuc refused to answer on this issue and it depends on his own decision on whether he will continue to lead the U23 Vietnam or not. Phuc’s assistant – Mr. Phung Thanh Phuong said: "All the U23 team are excited about the VFF’s decision. We welcome the willingness of the VFF and Phuc has agreed to stay with U23 Vietnam team to head towards to the SEA Games. I myself have completed the temporary duty at the U23 Vietnam in the last two games and I’m waiting for the VFF's new decision."
U23 Vietnam team did not win the BTV Cup championship but after the team’s performance at this tournament, fans were somewhat reassured about the team. Phuong said: "Basically, the process of preparing for the SEA Games is on track and the frame has been completed. We have demonstrated our advantages at this tournament: the play style and the ability to create mutations. However, the ability to take advantage of the opportunity of the players is the weakness that needs to be fixed in the future."
Right after the BTV Cup, U23 Vietnam players have returned home after being summoned again on November 8.
