VietNamNet Bridge – As Viet Nam develops its thermal power plant system to meet increasing energy demands, the country faces a new environmental risk arising from the waste generated by those plants.
VietNamNet Bridge - While the world strives to use more clean energy, Vietnam focuses on developing coal thermal power.
Coal thermal power will have to continue to be used in Vietnam, though it badly affects the environment.
Under the electricity development strategy approved by the government in March, the Mekong River Delta would have 14 coal thermal power plants by 2030 with total capacity of 18,270 MW.
