Reporting at the congress, Political Commissar of the High Command of Coast Guard Region 2, Colonel Le Huy Sinh said that, for the term 2015-2020, the unit successfully completed all assigned tasks; regularly grasped the situation at sea, effectively handled situations, maintained security, order and safety in the waters under its management; successfully completed the combat readiness mission, training, drills and military external relation missions.

The annual fight against smuggling, trade fraud and drug crimes has always met and exceeded the set targets, successfully detected and resolved many complicated cases, with the huge number of infringing goods. Along with that, the political work and Party-related activities of the Region have gone into depth, with positive effects; leadership capacity and fighting strength of the Party committees at all levels and Party organizations have been maintained.

Specifically, in the past term, the unit checked and sanctioned 587 ships, with fines worth more than 2.4 billion VND; investigated and handled 18 smuggling - commercial fraud cases involving 25 vehicles, confiscated many exhibits of violation, conducted auction with the amount of more than 186 billion VND (increased 171.4 billion VND compared to the previous period).

In the fight against drug-related crimes, the unit actively coordinated with relevant forces to detect and handle 78 drug-related cases, arrested 99 people and confiscated many exhibits of violation (67 cases over the previous term).

In addition, the High Command of Coast Guard Region 2 coordinated with State specialized units, local forces stationed in the area to verify 216 incidents, accidents at sea; successfully rescued 21 vehicles with 193 fishermen and crew members.
