During the past term, the Party Committee of the Region thoroughly grasped and strictly implemented the directives and resolutions issued by the superior agencies, performed well its mission of offering advice to the Party Standing Committee of the Vietnam Coast Guard to handle situations at sea, in accordance with the policy of the Party and the State, firmly protecting the sovereignty over sea and islands of the country, maintaining a peaceful and stable environment in the assigned waters.

The Coast Guard Region 4 also performed well the task of patrolling, controlling, maintaining and enforcing the law at sea, resolutely fighting drug-related crimes; seized and handled many cases of smuggling and trade fraud with a large number of confiscated and auctioned assets. The High Command of Coast Guard Region 4 held 451 patrol trips; conducted inspection of 385 vessels, imposed administrative sanctions on 337 ships with the amount of VND7,243,439,540; confiscated 9,908,657 liters of DO oil, 51,964m3 of wood, 35,060 packs of foreign cigarettes, 52,876 kg of urea nitrogenous fertilizer, 20 turtles, which were auction to raise 109,188,272,574 VND to the State budget; prosecuted 05 criminal cases; coordinated with other forces to detect 10 drug cases, arrest 25 people, seize 31,50597 kg of drugs of all kinds; successfully rescued 33 cases with 99 people and 12 vehicles.

In parallel with well performing the task of patrolling, controlling and protecting sovereignty of the country’s sea and islands, the High Command of Coast Guard Region 4 has always performed well the task of training combat readiness, building regular order and discipline, the content of political education, military training all meeting 100% of the requirements, of which over 81.5% of officers and soldiers rated pretty and good. At the same time, the Party Committee of the Coast Guard Region 4 led and organized comprehensive implementation of activities of Party work, political work; renewed the emulation movement; effectively implemented "The Coast Guard accompanies the fishermen" program, building the image of Uncle Ho's soldiers – Coast Guard soldiers in the hearts of the people.

With the spirit of "Democracy, solidarity, discipline, responsibility", the Congress determined to continue to thoroughly grasp the Directives and Resolutions of the superior agencies, and at the same time focus on leadership to improve the quality of the combined strength of the unit, proactively overcoming difficulties, actively innovating and being creative in combat training, well implementing the policy of building the "revolutionary, formal, elite, modern" Coast Guard.
