On the morning of April 20, in the northern coastal city of Hai Phong, the Coast Guard fleets 8004 and 8003 belonging to the 11th Squadron of the High Command of Coast Guard Region 1 departed for the task of inspecting the fishing activities in the joint fishing area of the Gulf of Tonkin between the Vietnamese and Chinese Coast Guard forces for the first time in 2020.

This joint patrol in the Gulf of Tonkin between the Vietnamese – Chinese Coast Guard forces will take place for 3 days, from April 21 to 23, covering 9 points in the common fishing area in the Gulf of Tonkin.

During the inspection process, the Coast Guard forces of the two countries will inspect and supervise fishing activities of fishermen of the two countries in the common fishing area, providing information on the operating regulations and behavior at sea and relevant rules for fishermen who are fishing and exploiting aquatic products in the common fishing area in the Gulf of Tonkin.

This is the 19th joint inspection of fishing activities in the Gulf of Tonkin, which is organized on the basis of the Agreement on Fishing Cooperation in the Tonkin Gulf signed by the Vietnamese and Chinese Governments in 2000.
