VietNamNet Bridge – The National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting (NCHMF) said that a cold spell is forecast to hit northern Vietnam starting on Wednesday.

The temperature is expected to drop as low as 18-20 degrees Celsius in Hanoi, while falling to 15-17 degrees Celsius in mountainous provinces of Son La, Ha Giang and Lai Chau.

Due to the cold spell, the northern region will experience showers and scattered thunderstorms from Tuesday night.

Provinces from Thanh Hoa to Thua Thien-Hue will see medium to heavy rainfall from November 7-10. Strong winds and hailstorms might also occur.

Provinces in the south central region are also forecast to see moderate to heavy rain as well as thunderstorms from November 7-11.
