VietNamNet Bridge - On the morning of the 7th day of the lunar year, the Tich Dien Festival or the King’s Plowing Festival is held in Doi Son commune, Duy Tien district, Ha Nam province, to mark a new year for farming.

The festival was restored by Ha Nam province six years ago and since then is held annually on the seventh day of the Lunar New Year--to pray for bumper harvests and a prosperous year.

The Tich Dien fest originated in 1987, based on when King Le Dai Hanh (941- 1005) ploughed a field in Doi Son Commune, Duy Tien District, to encourage local farmers to work diligently.
