On the afternoon of October 9, the Nhan Dan Newspaper held the opening ceremony for the interactive exhibition and introduced a special supplement commemorating the 70th anniversary of Hanoi's liberation.
Hanoi Chairman Tran Sy Thanh, Editor-in-Chief of the Communist Review Le Hai Binh, along with leaders from various ministries and a large number of students, attended the event.
In his opening speech, Mr. Le Quoc Minh, Editor-in-Chief of the People's Newspaper, stated that on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Hanoi's liberation (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2024), the newspaper organized a special information campaign, meticulously prepared over nearly six months, beginning with the launch of a specialized knowledge page about Hanoi.
The product aims to convey valuable documentary information and memories of the heroic atmosphere of October 10, 1954, alongside the cultural and historical values of a thousand years of civilization and the development vision for the capital's future.
Additionally, the Newspaper launched the project “Each Person, a Piece of the Puzzle.” In this project, readers can submit personal photos to create a large image of the Flag Tower of Hanoi. Readers will use a provided code to locate their photo in the large picture, which will be unveiled on October 10.
A highlight of the special information campaign commemorating the 70th anniversary of Hanoi's liberation is the People's Newspaper supplement on October 10, 2024, themed around the Flag Tower of Hanoi. This special supplement will feature a page dedicated to the Flag Tower and a cut-and-paste model page.
Readers can cut and paste the printed page to create a model of the Flag Tower and interact with the model through three QR codes. Each QR code will provide expanded content and lead to other exciting projects within the People's Newspaper ecosystem.
From October 9 to 13, the Nhan Dan Newspaper is organizing the interactive exhibition featuring the Flag Tower of Hanoi at its headquarters. Visitors will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the troops' march back to Hanoi through mixed reality technology. This experience will recreate ten significant milestones in the liberation and takeover of the capital in October 1954.
Tech enthusiasts can use augmented reality (AR) glasses to view 3D images of Hanoi.
Using an integrated device with two 50MP cameras, the organizers have captured and filmed beautiful Full HD 3D spaces of many iconic locations in the capital, such as Ho Guom, Van Mieu, One Pillar Pagoda, Flag Tower of Hanoi, Long Bien Bridge, Hanoi Opera House, and the five city gates of Hanoi.
Visitors will have the opportunity to experience these images in three-dimensional space, akin to viewing landmarks in real life.
Mr. Le Quoc Minh also shared that starting October 10, the Nhan Dan Newspaper will begin distributing the special supplement on the Flag Tower of Hanoi free of charge to readers nationwide at its headquarters in Hanoi and across 63 provincial offices.
Readers will have the chance to set aside their busy schedules to try their hand at cutting, pasting, and folding the model of the Flag Tower of Hanoi, then scan QR codes for interactive experiences and learn about the history of the thousand-year-old capital.
Reflecting on the series of projects that the Nhan Dan Newspaper has undertaken to commemorate the 70th anniversary of Hanoi's liberation, Mr. Tran Sy Thanh, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee, praised these products as “remarkable achievements” that reflect the heart, vision, and outstanding creativity.
“The heart is evident in the Nhan Dan Newspaper's constant respect for history, honoring the sacrifices and contributions of many previous generations, using history as a foundation for future directions.
The vision is demonstrated in the way the Nhan Dan Newspaper anticipates the preferences of its readers. The interactions at the exhibition have created new experiences, touching the emotions of people from all walks of life,” Mr. Tran Sy Thanh stated.
Recognizing the creativity of the Nhan Dan Newspaper, Mr. Le Hai Binh, Editor-in-Chief of the Communist Review, emphasized that the newspaper has made significant efforts and innovations to bring the Party newspaper closer to the public, especially to the younger generation.
