VietNamNet Bridge – The third session of the National Assembly Standing Committee opened in Ha Noi yesterday, Oct 3, under the stewardship of National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung.
The key objective of the session is to prepare for the upcoming second session of the National Assembly which is scheduled to start on October 20.
Hung said the agenda for the committee meeting was intensive.
"The deputies will give comments on 10 draft laws and remarks on the implementation of the National Programme on Planting 5 million hectares of forest and issues relating to the salary of people working in the social insurance sector," said Hung.
Participants spent the whole of yesterday commenting on the 2011 plans of the Supreme People's Court and the Supreme People's Procuracy, including plans to settle citizen complaints and denunciations as well as the Government's report on the settlement of people's complaints and denunciations. This discussion was expected to continue this morning.
Deputies also talked about how to improve the fight against crime.
For the remainder of today and tomorrow, the committee members are expected to give their comments on 10 draft laws, such as laws on Measurement, Water Resources (revision), Labour Code (revision), Trade Unions (revision), Anti Money Laundering, Deposit Insurance, Denunciations, Complaints, and Administrative Litigation and the Law of the Sea.
However, at the upcoming National Assembly full house meeting, only four laws will be discussed. They are the laws on Measurement, Complaints and Denunciations and the Law on the Sea.
