Inspectors in the province's Phu Vang District announced last Tuesday that the party Secretary and Deputy Head of the Commune Council in Phu My Commune was using a fake diploma. In the Phu Thuong Commune, the deputy head of the commune committee had done the same.

The local department of education and training confirmed that it had not granted the diploma to the officials and the officials had not taken any of the necessary examinations required to get the diploma.

Using fake diplomas and certificates has been a matter that has not been solved properly during recent years. The inspectors said that the penalty imposed on the official has not been decided yet.
