VietNamNet Bridge – For the last two years, the Party Secretary of Binh Ninh commune in the southern province of Tien Giang, has used two cars with Cambodian license numbers.



On May 24, local authorities met to discuss the form of punishment on this official, Mr. Cao Van The, after The’s two cars with Cambodian license numbers were seized by police.

They are a seven-seat Lexus and four-seat Toyota cars, which were driven to office by The for the last two years. Sometimes, the chief police of Binh Nguyen commune drove the cars, taking the official to meetings.



The told police that the two cars were “mortgaged” by a pig trader in An Giang, who owes his family VND700 million ($35,000).

The official said that his cars have sufficient documents and legally registered (in Cambodia) but he could not read the documents because they are in Cambodian language.
