In the list of 10 movies, two belong to the Vietnamese American director Victor Vu: Scandal - Red Carpet Secret and Blood Letter. Scandal was released in October 2012 but Blood Letter was released in 2012 but it was produced in 2011 so it is still unclear whether Blood Letter is eligible for the competition or not.

The largest unknown is “Lost” by Nhue Giang because this movie has not been released yet. Meanwhile, “In the Name of Love” and “For June” won a lot of praise. The list of the film entries this year is said to be quite diverse with various genres and.

Although the award attracts only the participation of about half of films produced and released in 2012 but the most notable fact is the absence of private film firms this year. Many low-quality films, which are regarded as "junk" do not join the competition, making it easier for the award organizers from the beginning.

According to VietNamNet’s sources, this year the President of the Jury for feature films is Mr. Tran Kim Luan. The Golden Kite Awards 2013 ceremony will take place on March 9 at the studio of the HCM City Television Station (HTV).
