In a significant reshuffle of healthcare administration, the Hanoi People's Committee has launched a major rotation plan for district health department heads, affecting 14 of the 17 positions.
This decision, announced by Hanoi Chairman Tran Sy Thanh, marks a pivotal shift in the city's approach to health governance.
The rotation strategy involves 17 health department heads, with ten of them having tenures ranging from 10 to 19 years and the remaining seven serving between 5 and 8 years.
The Health Department of Hanoi has suggested retaining the current leaders of the Cau Giay, Long Bien, and Hai Ba Trung districts due to their upcoming retirements within 18 months.
Nguyen Thanh Khang, who has helmed the Me Linh district health department for 16 years, is set for a new role within the Me Linh District Party Committee. Similarly, leaders from the health departments of Nam Tu Liem, Ha Dong, My Duc, Thanh Oai, Thanh Tri districts, and Son Tay town are slated for lateral moves to other districts following discussions and agreements.
A cross-district rotation is also proposed for the seven district health department heads with 5 to 8 years in their current roles, aiming to foster a fresh perspective and invigorate leadership dynamics.
Plans are in place for the deputy heads of district health departments to undergo a similar rearrangement in 2025, completing this extensive leadership rotation.
The Hanoi Party Standing Committee has endorsed these changes, directing the Party Committee of the Hanoi People's Committee to execute the rotations swiftly and report back on the outcomes by the fourth quarter of 2024.
This comprehensive reorganization is designed to inject new vitality into Hanoi's health sector management at the district level, promoting a more responsive and dynamic healthcare administration across the city.
