Concert of Childhood Memory will be back at the Conservatory of HCMC on the nights of October 14 and 15 with the theme “Beyond Magic,” featuring a series of soundtracks from Harry Potter, the Lord of the Rings and How to Train Your Dragon.
A rehearsal session for Concert of Childhood Memory
For this comeback, the concert is about to attract an audience of more than 800, marking a return of the young orchestra who left a special impression with two sold out nights of their debut in the city in October 2017.
Still having a unique concept from the previous concerts, the two upcoming nights will bring to the audience famous soundtracks from various sensational movies that are re-arranged by talents of the Vietnam National Academy of Music, thus closing the gap between classical music and young music lovers. And more than that, each night will be an opportunity for the Vietnamese young musicians to connect with the audience by the magical music that was part of many people’s childhood.
Concert of Childhood Memory 2018 will pose some questions for the audience: “Where can music lead us to?”, “How infinite can imagination be?”, “How far has our childhood gone?”, and “Where can magic be found when we are all grown up?”. With 16 pieces of music, the orchestra will bring the audience to many places of their childhood land, from the world of Vikings where Hiccup goes on the adventure with dragons, through the Middle Earth where the hobbits, the wizards and fairies exist, to the world of broomsticks, wands, wizards and the unbelievable named Magic.
Albeit the same soundtracks from the two nights in Hanoi, Concert of Childhood Memory 2018 promises to bring a totally new music experience for HCMC audience, as the love the orchestra received from people here in 2017 has always fueled the young musicians' belief in the power of music, even if it's the classical, the genre that has always been thought of as not being for everyone.
For Concert of Childhood Memory to come back to HCMC this time, 60 young musicians have been working hard to bring exhilarating moments to all of the audience.
