* Vietnamese and Lao Government Offices boost cooperation

Vietnam and Laos need to share professional experience and promote mutual understanding to help their government offices obtain substantial results as expected.

Lao Deputy Prime Minister Somsavad Lengsavath was speaking at the July 27 reception for a delegation from the Vietnam Prime Minister’s Office led by Deputy Director Nguyen Quang Thang.

Mr Thang said his delegation’s visit aims to work out a cooperation project to help the Lao Government Office upgrade its material facilities by providing computer equipment, software for back-up files and training courses.

Mr Lengsavath praised the close cooperation between the two offices over the years and expressed his hope that the project will be finalized soon to make their cooperation more effective.

He also underlined the importance of applying computer-based programmes in paper work and asked Vietnam to continue assisting Lao cadres to apply modern technique in disseminating information.
