Initiated from his thesis at the Faculty of Industrial Fine Arts at Van Lang University in HCMC, the campaigns of popularizing condoms with the slogan “Be normal to live, to love and to be happy!” have been running for the past three years in order to raise awareness of the importance of safe sex. The new slogan “Let’s protect yourself” has been conveyed through a series of activities at the “Runway Condom Fashion Show in Saigon” launched last Thursday night.
The first-year program resulted in the campaign producing a fashionable dress made from 700 condoms; the second year produced another dress made from 2,000 condoms sponsored by Japan’s Sagami condom brand. This year’s campaign, or the last season of the Condom Project, saw organizers create a revolutionary collection of seven outfits made from 25,000 condoms under the sponsorship of Japan’s True-X condom brand.
Of the collection, there is a gown made from over 3,500 condoms that weighs over 40kg. This collection brought Tuan an achievement for “A fashion collection made from the most True-X condoms in Vietnam” by the Vietnam Guinness Book of Records.
The collection was unveiled to the public last Thursday night at April 30 Park, HCMC Opera House, Nguyen Hue Boulevard, Tax shopping center, Saigon Center and the backpacker’s area on Bui Vien Street.
