Confidence vote results on 57 holders of leading positions of the Party Committee of the National Assembly (NA) were announced on December 25, with NA Vice Chairman Uong Chu Luu earning the highest number of high-confidence votes with 93.16 percent.

Vice NA Chairman Huynh Ngoc Son gained 108 high confidence votes out of the total 117 ballots, or 93.31 percent, followed by Chairwoman of the Committee for Social Affairs Truong Thi Mai, with 89.74 percent, and Chairman of the Committee for Defence Nguyen Kim Khoa, 89.74 percent, and Chairman of the Committee for External Relations Tran Van Hang, 87.18 percent.

The vote, which was held for the first time, is subject to Vice NA Chairpersons who are not members of the Politburo or the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat; Chairperson and Vice Chairpersons of the NA’s Ethnic Council, heads and deputy heads of the NA committees, and heads of the NA Standing Committee’s institutes.

The Vice NA Chairpersons who are members of the Politburo or the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat will undergo the vote of confidence conducted by the Party Central Committee.

There are three levels of confidence – high confidence, confidence and low confidence.

The vote will then be implemented regularly in the third year of the committee’s tenure.
