The capital city authorities have asked relevant bodies to strictly handle violations in the two stores.

According to the Hanoi Market Management Bureau, the two stores Gucci and Milano at N0. 63 Ly Thai To Street committed tax evasion and could not prove the origin of their goods.

Mr. Vuong Tri Dung, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Market Management Bureau, says that after checking the entire operation at the two shops, the authorities have decided to confiscate the products of unknown origin.

"The confiscated products have been assessed as genuine, so they will be sold to raise fund for the state budget," Dung adds.

The tax evasion and other violations of the two stores have been transferred to the police for further investigation.

On December 8, 2012, the two stores were sealed by the relevant agencies to serve investigation, after a shop of the same chain in Ho Chi Minh City was investigated on suspicion of tax evasion.

However, on January 11, the two shops in Hanoi suddenly reopened, without the authorities’ permission. On this day, Gucci - Milano launched special promotions, attracting a large number of customers. Some people spent over VND100 million ($5,000) to buy goods here.
