VietNamNet Bridge - Since the Vietnam-Olympiakos match in May 2009, Le Cong Vinh - the best striker in the history of the Vietnam national team – has been appointed the team captain again.

The national squad grouped up yesterday, February 27, to prepare for the game against the South Korean students on March 2 and Hong Kong on March 5.

The coaching board appointed Le Cong Vinh as the captain and Thanh Luong and Minh Chau as vice captains.

These are the most experienced players in the team. They attended the Suzuki Cup 2008 together, under the leadership of Portuguese coach Calisto.

Cong Vinh said: "I am happy to be given the captain armband. During the upcoming matches, I and the team will play our best for the country and for the fans."

The team starts practicing from today, February 28 at the VFF training centre.
