VietNamNet Bridge – Vietnam’s top striker Le Cong Vinh has been granted the “Best Footballer of the Month” title of the V-League 2011.

Vietnam’s top striker Le Cong Vinh
Vinh is considered Vietnam’s number-one striker in recent years. At the sixth round of V-League 2010, in the game between Vinh’s Hanoi T&T and Dong Thap, the striker did not agree with the referee’s decision. He showed his disagreement by prostrating the referee. Vinh was suspended from six games and fined VND10 million ($500) for the act.

The striker was then injured seriously. He had to care for injury for ten months. He re-joined T&T Hanoi FC from the third round of V-League 2011. So far, Vinh has scored nine goals for his team. In June alone, Vinh scored goals at all three games of T&T Hanoi. The striker has greatly contributed to the team’s success.

Vinh gained 27 points in the selection of the Best Player of the Month and won the title. So far, only two Vietnamese players at V-League have received this title – Hoang Dinh Tung and Cong Vinh. Other winners are foreign footballers.

The Best Team of the Month title goes to Binh Duong FC, which got all three winning games v.s Khanh Hoa (2-0), Hoa Phat Hanoi (2-1) and Dong Tam Long An (2-1) in June. The team had 33 points, two more than that of Hanoi T&T.

Besides Cong Vinh, Hanoi T&T takes the Best Coach of the Month title for Phan Thanh Hung.
