VietNamNet Bridge – To prepare for the two games against Macau at the first qualifier round of the World Cup 2014, coach Mai Duc Chung has called up 23 players, including star striker Le Cong Vinh.

Cong Vinh was absent at the AFF Cup 2010, due to injuries. At that competition, Vietnam was defeated by Malaysia in the semi-final and it failed to protect the championship.

At V-League 2011, Cong Vinh played in nine matches and scored only three goals for his club, Hanoi T&T. However, coach Chung still picks up Cong Vinh.

The coach said that his list is still open for any footballer who performs well in the upcoming rounds of the V-League 2011.

In the list, senior players who were used by former coach Henrique Calisto – Hong Son, Vu Phong, Minh Chau, Tai Em, Quang Hai, Tan Truong, Tan Tai and Quang Thanh - are still named.

The two games against Macau will take place on June 29, at HCM City’s Thong Nhat Stadium and in Macau on July 3.

From now on, the national football squad will practice at the Thang Long Sports Center in HCM City.
