The contest is organised by the French Institute in Viet Nam in co-operation with its partners, including Vietnamese-French choreographer and dancer Anne Nguyen, winner of the 2013 Nouveau Talent Chorégraphie (SACD) prize in France.

The participants, aged between 18 and 35, should be registered as a solo or group entry before April 24. Audiences are invited to vote for the best entries on the institute’s facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/VienPhaptaiTPHCM/.

The jury led by Anne will select three final groups on April 30.

These groups will perform in a workshop featuring the art of hip-hop on May 2.

They will receive support from professional dancers from leading troupes such as Gameloft Vietnam, Dancenter, Saigon Dub Station and Arabesque Dance Vietnam.

The winner will receive VND10 million (nearly US$500) in cash.

All finalists will perform in a show with the dancers of Compagnie par Terre, which will begin at 7:30pm on May 4 at Ben Thanh Theatre in District 1.
