After five years of experiments, Cordyceps JSC has launched the first made-in-Vietnam cordyceps products on the market.

Do Van Hue, one of two founders of the company, in the past worked as a food processing expert for some beverage manufacturers and had the opportunity to cooperate with the world’s leading technology groups, which provided equipment to make sterilized products in accordance with Aseptic technology.

Hue began working on the methods to cultivate cordyceps many years ago, then decided to build a farm and import equipment to produce cordyceps on an industrial scale.

His farm, located in Lai Thieu District of the southern province of Binh Duong, is well equipped to grow cordyceps on an area of 2,000 square meters in accordance with Class 100 standards.

A clean air system is installed there to be sure that the temperature in the farm is always minus 2oC. The air is brought into the farm through AHU (air handling unit) and FCU (fan coil unit) systems.

The fresh air outside is filtered through three different levels, then cooled to reasonable temperatures and balanced with suitable moisture before it is fed into the 2-level filtration room to satisfy Class 100 standards.

The water used for the cordyceps cultivation is RO water which is filtered through RO system and sterilized with ultraviolet ray. RO water is used to distil water and create moisture.

The workers at the farm take care of cordyceps and watch over the development via a monitoring system outside the growing house. They enter the house when they need to harvest but have to strictly follow hygienic requirements.

The workers must take a shower before entering the house. Ultraviolet lamps and Air Curtail systems are installed at the entrance door.

With strict cultivation process, the company can harvest high-quality cordyceps fungus, which serve as the high-quality materials for cordyceps products.

The process has been certified by ANALYTICAL LABORATORIES IN ANAHEIM.INC as meeting FDA (Food & Drug Administration) standards.

Cordyceps JSC is also the first unit in Vietnam with an Intellectual Property Office’s patent for its cordyceps cultivation process.

The company now provides dried and fresh cordyceps products, while it plans to provide other valuable products in the future, including cordyceps in tablets, tea bags, coffee and wine.

According to Dao Hien Dao, chair of the company, his farm can churn out 500 kilos of fresh cordyceps.

Dried cordyceps made by the company are 30 percent cheaper than imports from Japan and the US.
