For instance, Taiwan planned to receive 28,000 workers, Malaysia 11,000, South Korea 8,000 and Japan 6,000.
"In South Korea, Vietnamese workers are highly appreciated and make up 40 per cent of guest workers there," he said.
By the end of last month, about 5,000 Vietnamese workers had been chosen by South Korean employers and earned an income of VND17 million (US$850) a month each. More than 1,600 workers had completed their procedures for departure.
This year, South Korea had giving high priority to workers in the manufacturing, maritime and construction sectors, so female workers made up only 10 per cent, Hai said.
The labour market for female workers was Taiwan and Malaysia, he said, where nearly 60 per cent of guest female workers worked as assistants in families and more than 40 per cent worked in the manufacturing sector.
Meanwhile, the Vietnamese Overseas Employee Management Department announced it would set up a vocational centre for guest workers in Thanh Hoa central province, funded by the United Arab Emirates and capable of training 500 people hoping to work overseas.
