VietNamNet Bridge – Ministry of Public Security’s Police Investigation Agency yesterday issued a decision launching criminal proceedings against five former officials of the Viet Nam Rubber Group (VRG) accused of deliberately violating State rules on economic management resulting in serious consequences.

The five accused are Le Quang Thung – former president of the VRG’s members council, Nguyen Thanh Chau and Nguyen Van Minh – former director and chief accountant of the Dong Nai Rubber Company, Nguyen Hong Phu and Hoang Van Son – former director and chief accountant of the Phu Rieng Rubber Company.

The criminal proceedings included a search warrant and legal preventive measures needed to be taken against the five accused, following a decision issued on December 6 by the ministry’s investigative police and investigations conducted on the case in accordance with Article 165 of the Criminal Code.

Police said they were expanding the investigation of the case.
