The concert will take place under the baton of Vietnamese conductor Tran Vuong Thach.

Nutcracker is based on the classic story ‘The Nutcracker and the Mouse King’ by E.T.A. Hoffman, is set to music by Tchaikovsky and features dancing sugarplum fairies, valiant toy soldiers and dueling mice, twirling snowflakes, waltzing flowers, and, of course, a Nutcracker prince. It is a favorite during the Christmas holiday season.

The ballet debuted in HCMC two years ago thanks to Norwegian choreographer Johanne Jakhelln Constant with the dancers of HBSO and gained much appreciation from experts and audiences alike.

The ballet promises to bring joyful and artistic moments not only to young audiences but also to ballet lovers, bringing them to legendary and poetic scenery.

Thach, principal conductor/Director of HBSO, studied violin aged 10 and graduated from HCMC Conservatory in 1984 and then from 1990 to 1996 he studied at the Royal Conservatory of Liège (Belgium) and the Conservatory of Maastricht (The Netherlands). Tickets are priced at VND650,000, VND550,000 and VND400,000 per person and VND150,000 per student from the Opera House, 7 Lam Son Square in District 1.
