VietNamNet Bridge – The Ha Noi Customs Department has collected arrears of over VND28.3 billion (US$1.3 million) for the State Budget in the first 11 months this year, 2.8 times year-on-year higher than 2010.

The collection came following "post customs clearance" inspections at 190 enterprises in accordance with Resolution 10-NQ/DUHQ which requires tigher inspections of customs clearance in the period of 2011-15.

Director of the Ha Noi Customs Department Nguyen Van Truong said these efforts helped prevent fraud and State budget revenue losses.

It also detered local enterprises from breaching the law, Truong said.

In the time to come, the department would focus on "post customs clearance" inspections of values, copyright fees, construction materials, consumer goods and electrical appliances, he said.
