Compared to the recent 2024 International U19 tournament in China, the Vietnam U19 football team has been bolstered by the addition of several prominent players.

These include goalkeeper Cao Van Binh (SLNA), defender Nguyen Manh Hung (Truong Tuoi Binh Phuoc), Nguyen Luong Tuan Khai (Hue), midfielders Vi Dinh Thuong, Nguyen Huu Tuan (Hue), Thai Ba Dat (PVF), Nguyen Trong Tuan (Bac Ninh), and striker Nguyen Anh Tuan (Phu Tho). These players were previously unavailable due to commitments with their home clubs in domestic tournaments.

Notably, midfielder Ho Huu Hung, currently playing for CU Bohemians Praha in the Czech Republic National Championship and previously a member of the Czech Republic U15/U16 team, has been called up.

Born in 2006, Huu Hung holds both Vietnamese and Czech citizenship. He has spent 13 years training and playing football in the Czech Republic. Before joining CU Bohemians Praha, Huu Hung played for FC Slovacko (2011-2016) and SK Slavia Praha (2016-2018). His best positions are attacking midfielder and winger.

Following the gathering, the Vietnam U19 team will train at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center. On July 16, the team will travel to Indonesia for the 2024 Southeast Asian U19 Championship.

The 2024 Southeast Asian U19 Championship will take place in Surabaya, Indonesia, from July 17 to July 29.
