A Quang Son Commune People's Committee representative reported on the afternoon of July 10 that they had completed the autopsy on the body of Otto Jansta, 76, who was found dead in a local reservoir.

"The body is now being kept at a local hospital before it is sent to his family," the representative said.

According to a report from the committee, a man was found drowned at Thai Son Reservoir at 11 am on July 9 by local people. He was identified as Otto Jansta of Czech nationality who was on a visit to the family of his adopted son Nguyen Huu Hoa in Quang Son Commune.

"Hoa, 37, was adopted by Otto Jansta while working in the Czech Republic," the committee reported. "After Hoa returned to Vietnam, the adopted father came to visit him every year. It is suspected that he accidentally fell into the reservoir and drowned."

Local authorities are further investigating the cause of the death.
