Vietnam and the Czech Republic are keen to boost defence cooperation in the time to come, said Deputy Minister of Defence Truong Quang Khanh at a meeting with his Czech counterpart Tomas Kuchta in Prague on May 12.

Deputy Minister Khanh suggested speeding up the implementation of programmes signed between Vietnamese businesses and Czech Ministry of Defence as well as expanding personnel training activities for the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA).

Khanh hailed the cooperation between Vietnam’s National Military Academy and the Brno Military Academy in training and scientific research on military technology while hoping that the cooperation would record new achievements.

Minister Khanh also mentioned the dialogue between President Truong Tan Sang and President Milos Zeman during which the Czech Republic concurred to help Vietnam partake in the United Nations' peacekeeping tasks and deal with post-war bombs and mines.

Czech Deputy Minister Kuchta affirmed that his ministry would maintain closer cooperation with the Vietnam Defence Ministry to realize cooperation contents as agreed by both ministries.
