Visitors have complained that the Da Lat Cherry Blossom Festival was held too late when there are no more blossoms to see.
The first Da Lat Cherry Blossom Festival opened at Tuyen Lam Lake in Da Lat city of the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong on January 27.
Many visitors have expressed disappointment when there are no more flowers to see during the festival.
"I was so disappointed," Nguyen Huu Luan, a tourist from Ho Chi Minh City said. "Some 100 trees at the Sam Tuyen Lam Resort where the opening ceremony was held, showed no flowers. On many trees around the lake there were only leaves growing while the flowers had all gone."
According to local people, cherry blossoms started to bloom about a month ago when many areas in the city, especially Tuyen Lam Lake were covered by the amazing pink flowers.
"The festival should have been held at that time," a local, Phan Hoang Lan, said.
There were some cultural activities held during the three-day festival, including art performances, musical fountain shows, wine tasting, a Gong music night and a photo exhibition of cherry blossoms.
There are more than 3,000 cherry flower trees in Da Lat, most of which were planted around Xuan Huong Lake, Dalat Maple Tourism Site, and downtown streets of Dong Da, Ho Tung Mau, Le Dai Hanh, Tran Hung Dao, and Pho Duc Chinh.
The flower blooms in pink in the first months of the year to welcome the spring.
