Tourists are being increasingly targeted by annoying sales people in Da Lat City during summer holiday despite efforts from local authorities.

Traders invite tourists to buy their goods in Da Lat



Da Lat Department Public Security said they had applied VND60m (USD2,600) of fines to 60 marketers. 

58 restaurants and gardens were also fined VND220m for selling products of unknown origin and using marketers to hassle tourists. 

Despite their efforts, the situation the problem hasn’t been resolved. 

Last year, Da Lat police had to deal with a case where the owners of a strawberry garden assaulted a 44-year-old tourist when she refused to buy strawberry extract. 

A former marketer revealed that most food that is claimed to be grown in Da Lat is actually bought from China. 

Competition among the shops is high so they pay high for the marketers to find as many customers as possible.
