VietNamNet Bridge – Duy Tan University in the central city of Da Nang has admitted Le Phuoc Thiet, 82, to the master degree program in business administration.

Thiet will not have to attend an entrance exam as other students. The university will also exempt Thiet from school fees

Last November Thiet applied to study. He received a bachelor’s degree in the US at the age of 70.

"I go to school is for myself first. Studying is the exercise for my mind. And when my children and my grandchildren educate their kids, they can tell them that at that age, you grandfather, great grandfather still wanted to go to school, so at your young age, you have no reason to be lazy,” Thiet said.

Le Cong Co, Rector of Duy Tan University, said Thiet was an example for his descendants and others.

"I believe that he will be a spiritual motivation for other students in his class," Co said.
