VietNamNet Bridge - A male pig-tailed monkey in the last few days has attacked tourists on the peak of Ban Co on the Son Tra peninsula in Da Nang city.

Tourists reported that the monkey is big, bold and aggressive. It attacked and bit several travelers, including foreigners, leaving people anxious and insecure when traveling to this famous destination.

Nguyen Duc Vu, Deputy Director of the Management Board of Son Tra peninsula and Da Nang beaches, said the local authorities immediately sent a group of forest rangers to catch the fierce monkey on March 18 and 19 but they failed.

If the animal is caught, it will be released into forest areas located away from tourist attractions.

Nguyen Bau, vice chief ranger of Son Tra - Ngu Hanh Son area, said: "Whenever it sees women, male monkeys usually swam over them. Or if any tourist sees and tries to catch it, it will scratch as an automatic reflex," Bau explained.
