Da Nang welcomed nearly 2,000 international tourists aboard the luxury cruise ship Noordam at Tien Sa Port on the morning of January 1, 2025. This marks the start of a vibrant year for the city’s tourism sector.
A grand arrival by sea
At 6:45 AM, the Noordam, carrying tourists primarily from Europe and the United States, docked at Tien Sa Port.
The ship had embarked from Singapore on December 22, 2024, traveling through Thailand and Cambodia before arriving in Vietnam.
Visitors are set to explore Da Nang’s iconic attractions, including the Marble Mountains and Linh Ung Pagoda, during their stay.
The Tien Sa Port predicts significant growth in cruise tourism this year, with 76 cruise ships expected to dock, bringing an estimated 70,000 passengers to the city.
Welcoming travelers by air
In addition to the sea arrivals, Da Nang International Airport celebrated the arrival of nearly 1,000 travelers on January 1.
From 8–10 AM, Da Nang’s Department of Tourism hosted a special welcome event for domestic and international guests at both the domestic and international terminals.
At the domestic terminal, three lucky passengers on Vietnam Airlines flight VN110 from Ho Chi Minh City, which landed at 8:20 AM, received meaningful gifts as part of the celebration.
Meanwhile, at the international terminal, passengers arriving from Thailand, South Korea, Taiwan (China), and Hong Kong (China) between 9–10 AM were warmly greeted with gifts and hospitality.
January 1 saw 125 flights land at Da Nang International Airport, including 57 international flights.
For the New Year holiday period from December 28, 2024, to January 1, 2025, the airport welcomed over 600 flights, a 15.6% increase compared to the same period in 2024.
Da Nang’s bustling start to the year underscores its growing appeal as a top destination for travelers from around the world.
