The Da Nang People’s Committee said on August 28 that the “Return to the Sacred Moment” program will take place at APEC Park from September 2-4, coinciding with the 81st anniversary of Vietnam’s National Day (September 2, 1945 – September 2, 2026).

Through VR technology, residents and visitors in Da Nang will have the opportunity to “travel back in time” to Ba Dinh Square on September 2, 1945, witnessing the moment President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence and proclaimed the birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam.

Participants will experience Ba Dinh Square as it appeared 81 years ago, joining the crowds moving toward the ceremonial platform, listening to the Declaration of Independence and immersing themselves in the atmosphere of the country’s first day of independence and freedom.

The program is jointly organized by the Voice of Vietnam (VOV), the Da Nang Party Committee and the Da Nang People’s Committee. It is implemented by VTC News and the Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in coordination with the Da Nang Party Committee’s Commission for Information, Education and Mass Mobilization, the Hai Chau Ward People’s Committee and the Information and Communications Technology Institute (CDIT) under the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology.

Bringing the program to Da Nang during this year’s National Day holiday is expected to offer a new way of experiencing history, combining traditional education with modern technology.

“Return to the Sacred Moment” was first introduced to the public in Hanoi during the 2025 National Day holiday, attracting around 35,000 visits. The program was subsequently held in Quang Ninh in September 2025.

Over three days from May 17-19, 2026, more than 3,000 residents and visitors took part in the experience at the Kim Lien Special National Relic Site in Nghe An Province.

Most recently, the program was held at Independence Palace in Ho Chi Minh City from August 19-21, attracting more than 8,000 visits.
