The museum said 246 photos from 185 photographers, which were selected from the 9th Vietnam International Artistic Photo Competition last year, will be displayed for locals as well as tourists visiting the city.
The exhibition will display the best photos in the categories of open shots, landscapes, portraits and daily life.
The photos have been selected from 11,000 photos sent from 36 countries and territories, 88 of which have been given awards or certificates by the Viet Nam Artistic Photo Association (VAPA), and the International Federation of Photographic Art (Fédération Internationale de l’Art Photographique-FIAP).
The exhibition will officially open at 3.30pm on April 24th at the museum, located at 24 Tran Phu Street.
Last year, the city also hosted the ASEAN Community Exhibition to mark the 50th anniversary of the foundation of ASEAN.
The Museum, which covers 3,000sq.m, is home to 2,500 objects, photos and documents on the culture of Da Nang and neighbouring central provinces.
The museum was built on the old site of the Dien Hai Citadel, which was built under the Nguyen Dynasty between 1802 and 1860 in the 19th century. It also preserves a collection of 11 cannons unearthed at the citadel between 1979 and 2008. — VNS
