"Kicking off the party" with DIFF - Da Nang’s signature festival
DIFF 2024, themed 'Made in unity - Global connection - Radiant five continents,' along with a series of world-class festivals and shows taking place on every corner of the central city of Da Nang, is making major contributions to the heat in the city this summer. It's also why Vietnam Airlines has chosen the city to add 2,000 night flights.
Along with familiar participants from previous years, including France, Italy, Poland, Finland and Vietnam, DIFF 2024 welcomes three newcomers from China, the US and Germany. It promises to bring spectators stunning light displays.
The opening night of DIFF 2024 will take place on the evening of June 8 with a kickoff competition between the host team, Vietnam, and the reigning champion of last year's festival, France. It promises to be an exciting 'fireworks battle' with the theme 'Unique Culture.'
Subsequent fireworks nights will be held every Saturday evening in the following weeks, with a break before the final night on July 13.
To kick off this year’s fireworks season, Da Nang will treat visitors to a jetski and flyboard sports art performance produced by H2O from Australia. It promises to be a highlight that makes DIFF 2024 different from previous years.
After one week of officially opening the ticket sales portal of DIFF 2024 (diff.vn) with prices ranging from VND800,000 to VND3 million across five grandstand tiers, many travel agencies and visitors, both domestic and international, have been booking tickets.
Tickets for the opening night on June 8 are currently the most sought after. DIFF tickets are expected to sell out quickly as the demand to watch the international fireworks festival increases and information about DIFF 2024 continues to draw interest.
A series of events accompanying DIFF 2024 will also be held at various famous tourist and entertainment spots in the city, featuring numerous exhibitions and unique music, art and festival events.
World-class shows launched for the first time in Da Nang
This summer marks the first time Da Nang becomes a 'grand stage' for a series of world-class art shows, gathering the world's top entertainment stars including Maestro Voronin, known as the 'David Copperfield' of comedic magic and the Crystal Ladies, a twin star duo who appeared on the famous Ellen Show.
This series of shows has debuted at the Sun World Ba Na Hills since May with classic performances and records that have made names for the world's top artists in the fields of circus and magic.
These include notable names like the WOW Kingdom show, an academic circus and magic feast led by the legendary Maestro Voronin, Fairy Blossom, a grand ballet involving nearly 300 artists and circus performers and The Rainbow Show, a show for the LGBT community appearing in Da Nang for the first time. It is also the first time Da Nang is hosting a private show for elite customers, The Stellar, with the participation of numerous top world artists.
Another unique show that visitors should not miss in Da Nang this summer is Symphony of River, a majestic performance combining art and sports at Asia Park. The show has two performances, one during the day and another at night, with a stage capacity of up to 4,000 seats. The night-time show will also have spectacular fireworks displays, making Da Nang a city of nightly fireworks throughout the summer.
Also at Asia Park, the 'Rối Việt' (Vietnamese puppetry) show brings the essence of puppet art to Da Nang for the first time. The artists from the Vietnam National Puppetry Theatre will perform the show every day of the week.
With two performances at 7pm and 8:15pm at the Ầu Ơ Theatre's Marina stage, which has a capacity of about 600 seats, the show offers a new cultural experience for visitors to the coastal city.
