VietNamNet Bridge – Central Da Nang City is likely to be selected as one of three low-carbon model towns in Asia by the Asia-Pacific Economic Co-operation (APEC), according to Asia Development Consulting Group.
If selected, the city will be given US$600,000 to deal with power shortages, apply advanced technology to protect the environment at industrial parks, reduce carbon dioxide emissions and promote environmental-friendly tourism.
APEC environment and energy ministers will make their choices later this month.
